Years ago, my cousin (Madeline Bailey) found reference to Griswold's potential paternity in "Black Roots in Southern Connecticut..."..
Since then, a Native American researcher named Vicki "Blue Sky" Welch has found that the likely father of Prince Crosley would likely have been a black slave of Griswold's named "York" His mother was Eunice Crosley. This information was in theConnecticut Historical Society's magazine, The Nutmegger, in a 2 part article titled "The Slaves of a Governor"..
Prince was my gggggggrandfather...
