Your grandfather's name andbirth date, his wife's name, children, etc. Where in CA did he live ?.
Dates & places are the most important when trying to back track someone--and the younger they are the harder they are to find. 1930 Census is the latest one released--so any one born after that it's harder, but possible.
If you will post some names & dates, I'll see if I can find anything for you.
