Hewitt Griswold was the son of John & Elizabeth (PORTER) GRISWOLD, according to the New Hampshire Birth Register, Grafton County. He m. Abigail and they had:Alvah C. (1801-?); Ahira (1803-1850), Hewitt French (1805-1858), Elizabeth Porter (1807-?), Abigail (1809-1888), Oliver Burton (1811-?) and Eliza E. GRISWOLD.

You are correct in that it was the son, Hewitt French GRISWOLD who m. Betsey B. HOWE.
