By Pat Qvick June 19, 2001 at 08:23:41

Looking for information on the families of William Brumfield and Mary Grow.Mary Grow is the (probable) sister of my ancestor, Susannah Grow.

This is the information I have - a few items on the BRUMFIELD family are not documented so far:

Mary GROW m. William BRUMFEL/BRUMFIELD: Jan 28, 1802 (Jessamine Co., KY),
Children of Mary (GROW) and William BRUMFIELD:

Merriman BRUMFIELD b. Jan 9, 1803 KY
John BRUMFIELD b. April 6, 1806 Bracken Co., KY
Jefferson BRUMFIELD b. 1812
Robert BRUMFIELD b. abt April 1, 1814
Mary BRUMFIELD m. Jacob MEEKER

Susannah GROW (possibly Jessamine Co., KY) m. Christian WELDY (died before March 4, 1820)

Susannah had two known brothers:  Jacob GROW and Henry GROW, a possible
brother William GROW and a possible sister, Mary GROW. (Mary Brumfield is listed in the Montgomery County, German Twp., Ohio 1820 census as living near Susannah and Merryman Brumfiel signed as a witness to Susannah receiving her widows pension of $100):

Susannah's brother (was named as the executor of Christian WELDY's estate):
Jacob GROW m. unknown
Known Children of Jacob GROW (named in Henry GROWs will):
Elizabeth GROW m. Michael BYERLY: September 21, 1828
Catherine GROW m. John CAYLOR

Susannah's brother, Henry GROW d. October, 1869, no known wife or children.
I do have a copy of Henry GROW's will which names Jacob and Henry WELDY as his nephews and Elizabeth BYERLY and Catherine CAYLOR as his nieces.

Children of Christian and Susannah (GROW) WELDY:

Joseph WELDY m. Mary SHADE: May 18, 1826
Daniel WELDY b. June 3, 1809 m. Priscilla THOMAS: May 16, 1830
Elizabeth WELDY m. Jacob GRIMES: August 28, 1829
Jacob WELDY m. Elizabeth SHUPPERT: December 10, 1833
Mary Ann WELDY m. Elias COTTERMAN: June 18, 1833
Rebecca WELDY m. Joseph NYE: November 12, 1835
Henry C. WELDY m. unknown

Additional information is available on the Weldy family, but not much more on the other lines.

Any help on this family would be greatly appreciated!
