Glen,

Please email me at: [email protected]
I can fill you in on what you need to know about John Grow and Marry Farrington. I am directly descended from this couple, going all the way back to John Grow of Ipswich, Massachusetts.Mary Farrington was born in Andover, Mass, and there she was married to John Grow. Their son, Nathaniel, is a patriot of the War of the Revolution and is my g.g.g.grandfather.He was married to Betsy Cady, daughter of Jonathan and Elizabeth Cady of Killingly, Windham County, Conneticut.Anything you want to know regarding John and Mary's parentage, please get in touch with me.There are two written sources:John Grow of Ipswich, John Groo of Oxford, 1913, by George Davis; and the Woodstock Families of Connecticut, Vol. 6, by Clarence Bowen. In both books they list Mary's father as Theophilis Farrington. This is wrong. Theophilis was the cousin to Mary's father, Edward Farrington.Mary was born out of wedlock.I will be happy to supply you with more information. Also, in the first book I mentioned, George Davis didn't have the proof at that time, that connected what he thought were two different families. They are very much one and the same.John Grow of Ipswich, Mass., came from England with his brother in abt. 1654/55. He married Hannah Lord, daughter of Robert Lord and Mary Waite.Robert and his family arrived in Ipswich in 1634.Please contact me.My maiden name is "Grow".
