I just saw your posting and would like to respond to you as I believe we are related. My mother, Elsie, is the daughter of Annie Gruhn and is named after her Aunt Elsie Gruhn/Heinrichs.I would very much like to hear from you as I to am trying to learn more about the Gruhn family.... there are not many in Canada.
Annie, Emil, Herman, Minnie and Elsie were the children of Adolph Gruhn and Bertha Minnie Woeltge.I have a page out of an old bible that is written in German that I am trying to get translated or see if someone is able to read the Old German handwritting as it gives bot Adolph's and Bertha's parents names.
I'm not sure what information you have, but if you would like additional dates such as DOBs, PODs, POBs, etc. I can be reached directly by e-mail at [email protected]
I don't have a lot of info, but would love to make a family connection who is also interested in the Gruhn family history.
As you specifically list Elsie marrying Bernard Heinrichs, are you a descendant from their family? When we lived in Saskatchewan we always went to visit my grandparents in Manitoba and of course we always went to see Aunt Elsie and Uncle Ben.Uncle Ben was also my grandfather's cousin as well as a brother-in-law....a double connection. As kids we always had a great time visiting on the farm in the 1960s and early 1970s.
I look forward to hearing from you soon via my direct e-mail address as given above.Do you think Glenda Baker who responded to your posting at the Gruhn Family Forum is related?(If you see this posting Glenda...do you think we all have a connection?I don't know Adolph's parents names as yet, but am working on that.)
Hope to hear from you soon....
