Hello Beverly, My daughter found you and forwarded one of you email's to me.I have just read all 15 (10 was missing) pages on this site and found myself fascinated.I have been told our last name is unique and originated in Spain.My cousins found the city or town of Guerena but we dont know how it was changed to Huerena.We fiquered it was possibly changed when our ancestors came across and imigrants.? This is what I can share.............. Emiterio Huerena married Adelina (?), they bore Epifanio Huerena who married Adela Soloman (my grandmother & grandfather), they bore Emiterio Jr, Abelino, Sammuel & Ismael (my father) Huerena.
This is all very interesting and I am very excited to learn more. There are Huerena's in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico,& Washington that I know of.
The four brothers are still alive, and I intend to find out more at our "Huerena" Family Reunion in August.
We spell our name with a tilte ~ over the n. I dont know how to do it here.
Ola Familia', not sure how but I'm sure we are all related somehow.: }
