Güereña Genealogy
Hi,
I'm not sure who this is going too....first time on genealogy.com. In researching my genealogy on the WEB I ran into it. I read all the postings. I've been working on the Güereña genealogy off and on for a few months.
I have ~450 names and span about 8 generations. In no way am I even close to finishing.
In response to some of the comments made on the postings.........
- yes, this is how we spell our name.
- My father, Luis, was born in Alamos and was Maria Felix's cousin.
I've attached the first 2 generations only of the starting genealogy.
Generation No. 1
1.TIMOTEO GUERENA1 (BOSCONIA) was born in Spain.
-Child of TIMOTEO GUERENA (BOSCONIA) is:
i. MODESTO2 GUERENA, b. Spain.
Generation No. 2.
MODESTO2 GUERENA (TIMOTEO GUERENA1 (BOSCONIA)) was born in Spain. He married DELORES CHAVEZ.
=Children of MODESTO GUERENA and DELORES CHAVEZ are:
i. RAFAEL3 GUERENA, b. 1860, Alamos, Sonora, Mexico; d. 1930, Los Angeles, CA.
ii. AMADO GUERENA, b. Alamos, Sonora, Mexico.
iii. RICARDO GUERENA, b. Alamos, Sonora, Mexico.
iv. DOLORES GUERENA, b. Alamos, Sonora, Mexico.
v. FELIZARDO GUERENA, b. Alamos, Sonora, Mexico.
vi. JOSE ANDRES GUERENA, b. Alamos, Sonora, Mexico; d. 1868.
vii. CORNELA AMADA GUERENA, b. Alamos, Sonora, Mexico; d. 1864.
Rafael is my grandfather and most of the family lives in the Los Angels area. They all migrated from Alamos in 1921.
I also have a considerable amount of input on Modesto, Rafael's brother, from his family in Puerto Vallarta.
Those 2 legs represent 99% of the 450 names I have.
Obviously I'm looking for more input on any of the other brothers and sisters to Rafael and Modesto.
What can you give me to continue the search. And, who can you direct me to from the other postings, that can fill in on what I don't have?
I will share with you and your family what I develop as I move along in the process.
I am trying to be though as possible in gathering the data. I figure if I don't get it now,it may be lost to the Güereña family forever.
I know I won't find everything I'm looking for now, but, we can do the best we can now and leave it for our future generations.
The information I'm ideally looking for is:
- Decedents name (first , Middle, Last), Birth date and location
- Decedent's spouse Name (first , Middle, Last), Birth date and location.
- Marriage dates and location.
- Date of deaths and location.
- Go up and down as many generations as possible
Note: if sometimes you only have lead to some data .......pass it on.
Note: if there is a special claim to fame......pass it on.
( I think the family has had a Viceroy from Spain, President of Mexico, Mayor of Alamos, Mayor of Puerto Vallarta.)
Give me your thoughts,
Luis F. Güereña
