Michel came to Canada as a soldier to help quelch the Iroquois marauders around Montreal.
Simon Queret married(second marriage?)Francoise Bissonet at St Michel 4/7/1750.They had at least 11 chidren-9 boys and 2 girls.(14 baptised)
A son,Simon Etienne Queret married Marie-josephte Remillard in St Vallier 2/24/1772.
Jean Latulippe Queret married Anastasie Hudon-Beaulieu in Kamouraska,Que-5/11/1812.They apparently were responsible for the introduction of the name Guerrette into the border towns of the ST John Valley,Maine,U.S.A. and New Brunswick,Canada.
A son,George Queret married Flore Picard in St Basile,N.B. Canada -2/21/1843.
Their son Georges Queret married Exibert Castonguay in Upper Frenchville,Maine- 2/19/1867.
They had a big family in the Edmundston area.
One of them was my father,Thomas Guerrette.
I have checked the Edmundston cemetary and my Grandfather's name is written as Georges "Guerrette".
You could find more information about the Guerrette family tree from: Robert Guerrette.30 Burnham Street,Enfield,Ct 06082.
He has published an extensive study on the Guerrette's.
