Well, I guess I am the only one who had discovered this new board so.......
I am interested in the McGufford (later Gufford) family of New Hanover NC, time frame 1700s.
I have a Thomas Lewis who is said to have married Jane McGufford c1780, they are the parents of the following children named in the settlement of the estate of Thomas Lewis, Sr.

In Pursuance of an order of Court to us directed from the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions November Term we the undersigned proceeded to divide the estate of Thomas Lewis, Deceased as therein authorised and make the following return, viz,
John Sikes, Lot No. 1, Negroes Marshall and Ned valued at $625, to receive $110.71 ½ cts. also 150 Acres of land valued at $112.50 to pay $12.35 ¾ his part of debts owing said estate $214.98.
Lot 2.Spins [Spirus] Stanley, Negroes Pleasant and Moll valued at $850 to pay $114.28 ½.Also 50 acres of land valued at $50 to receive $50.14 ½ cts., his part of debts owing said estate two hundred and fourteen dollars 98/100.
Lot 3.William Lewis, Negroes John and Dinah valued at six hundred and seventy-five dollars, to receive sixty dollars 71 ½ .Also 110 Acres land valued at one hundred and ten dollars, to pay nine dollars 85 ¾ his part of debts owing said estate two hundred fourteen dollars 98/100.
Lot 4.Solomon Pigford Negroes, Shadrack and Sarah valued at eight hundred and fifty dollars, to pay one hundred and fourteen dollars 28 ½ .Also 109 Acres of land being one half of a tract containing 218 Acres valued at one hundred and nine dollars, to pay eight dollars 85 ¾ his part of debts owing said estate two hundred and fourteen dollars 98/100.
Lot 5.James Walker negroes George and Luke valued at eight hundred and fifty dollars to pay one hundred and fourteen dollars 23 ½.Also 53 Acres of land valued at twenty six dollars and fifty cents to receive seventy three dollars 64 ½ his part of debts owing said estate two hundred and fourteen dollars 98/100.
Lot 6.Anthony and Thomas Lewis (Minors) Negroes Joe, Grace, Will and Jane valued at thirteen hundred dollars to receive one hundred and seventy dollars 43/100.Also 109 Acres land being one half of a tract containing 218 including the buildings and part of the cleared land whereon said deceased lived and one hundred acres land both valued at two hundred and ninety three dollars to pay ninety two dollars 71 ½ their part of debts owing said estate four hundred and twenty nine dollars 96/100 deposited in the hands of Spins [Spirus] Stanley and James Walker Administrators of said estate the sum of five hundred and eighty five dollars twenty five cents, for the purpose of meeting demands against said estate and to settle with the heirs hereafter accordingly.
