I am interested in families connected to my line of Gullicks. I have seen info saying that John Gullick Sr. was born in St. Stephens, Cecil Co., MD. and that he was married first to Rebecca Hood and then to Elizabeth. I had never heard of Rebecca Hood. I also am curious about my grandfather, James William Alexander Gullick's (called Will) mother, Mary or Molly Ann who was first married to John Kenneman (or Kinnamon), had one daughter, and then was married to Larkin Stowe Gullick, my great grandfather. My grandfather Will wrote some notes in his 1895 bible.I have copied that and some other info below. Also he mentions his great-great grandmother being a sister to Chief Ross and a great grandmother that came from Australia when two years old. Any information would be interesting. Thanks. Peggy
Written in James William Alexander Gullick’s 1895 bible:
Great Grandmother was full blooded German-Dutch and came from Australia when two years old. Her name was Barbara Showsie (spelling? Shousie?).Tennie Parker’s grandfather was Henry Kinnaman. He was born in Carolina and lived in Georgia. Gullick is a Dutch name. My Grandmother’s grandfather came from Scotland Yard, Scotland. My great-great grandmother was a sister to Chief Ross of the Cherokee Indian Tribe. My cousin Ross Parker was named after this chief.
My notes: (Will Gullick had a half-sister named Tennie Kinnaman that was ten years older than him. Her full name was Mary Tennessee Kennaman)
(Tennie (Kinnaman) Parker’s & Joseph Beauregard Parker’s son- full name was really William Ross Parker and they lived in Arkansas) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
