If "Malexenar" is supposed to be a location in Sweden, I think it is an attempt to spell Malexander in Östergötland län (county).
Either you are mistaken about the month and day this person was born or the transcription which this cd was made from was incorrect.
Emibas CD:
Emibas was made from registrations in the Swedish parish to go to a foreign country. It is about 75% complete.
I really think this is your family. The birthdates match perfectly for the children and the dates for the parents are close to what you said.

They did not actually ARRIVE in the U.S. on the date you mentioned. They asked for the moving papers from their parish on that date and then they would have had to go to the port, get on a feeder ship going to Hull or Grimsby in England, take a train to an English port (such as Liverpool or Southampton) and then board a larger ship for the rest of their journey.

I have no idea what port they entered or what ship they used, but they certainly did not get off at the Ellis Island receiving station. Ellis Island opened in 1892, so if they landed in the port of New York, the receiving station in 1883 would have been Castle Garden.
