My name is Evelyn (Hacker) Herron and I am a first cousin of Richard Hacker with whom you have had some correspondence.He called me, since I have been doing a lot of Hacker family genealogy research, and asked if I could answer your questions above.

Since he mentioned origins in Clay County, KY, I was pretty sure you were descended from John Hacker, the ancestor of most of the Hackers who live in Kentucky (with the exception of Dick and myself).John was one of four brothers and three sisters who were born to Julius and Martha Beeler Hacker in the 1700s in Chesterfield Co., VA.Julius, however, was a German immigrant.Martha was the daughter of a German Swiss immigrant.

I have done some work on John's descendants, but was going to stop at this point because it is not my direct line, although, we are definitely related to it.John was the brother of Dick's and my ggggrandfather, Joseph.
