Thank you for getting in touch with me.Obviously I don't know how much of the Luckman family history you know, however, I started my research several years ago.firstly we share a 'common' ancestor, MARY ANN DAVIS (nee HARVEY) c.1811-c.1883.She had three daughters, MARY 1843-1915, Ann (ANNIE) 1849-1923 (your great-grandmother) and FANNY 1854-1945, my great-grandmother.
In 1867 MARY married George Edwin Luckman 1838-1889 and in 1872 her sister, ANNIE married George's younger brother, Edwin Bentley Luckman at Christ Church, Sparkbrook.George and Edwin were the two eldest sons of Henry Luckman and his wife Louisa (Bentley).
Your Grandfather, Edwin Bertram Alfred Luckman 1888-1973 was the youngest child of Edwin and Annie. He had three brothers, George Edwin, Thomas Henry and Charles Walter Vernon, also four sisters, Fanny Lucy(Mrs Burford), Annie Louisa Gertrude, Louisa Mary and Ellen Elsie, better known as 'Nellie'.Annie, Louisa and Nellie never married and lived at Delamere Road, Hall Green, Birmingham, until their respective deaths.'Nellie' was employed in the LMS Hotel in Birmingham, as a seamstress, responsible for the Linen stock. She used to visit my great-aunt quite frequently and looked after a girl, Shiela McCormack born c.1920, whose mother had been killed in an accident.
Your grandparents lived in Max Road, Quinton, for many years, until presumably they retired to Scotland.
Your great-grandmother's sister, Mary Luckman and her six adult children together with two grandchildren, immigrated to Auckland, New Zealand in 1910 and I correspond with their descendants.
