Re: Hadden-Wiggins connection in GA
I believe that Lucretia was not the daughter of James Irving, but his sister.I have located Lucretia and Eli Hadden in the 1850 census for Emanuel Co., GA and the 1870 and 1880 census for Johnson Co., GA.While her age does not progress consistently from one census to the next; age 22 in 1850, age 30 in 1870 (8 years in 20?), and age 50 in 1880, she is still much too old to have been James Irving's daughter. In 1850, she and Eli are living next door to a James and Sealy Wiggins.I believe these are her and James Irving's parents.Sealy appears in James Irving and Martha's house in the 1860 census.James might have died as he is not listed.
I am very interested in any information that can be had about Lucretia's sister Hattie Ann.She is reported to have had a relationship with a James Allen Davis (brother to Martha?), but did not marry him.She had several children, all of which kept the surname Wiggins. My husband's family is descended from Hattie's daughter Anna Lee who married George Lee Davis.
