looking for help

Hi there... my name is Stacy and I'm from New Jersey.I was wondering if someone could help me.I would love to find out about my family history, but I just don't know where to start.My mother's maiden name is Helen Hafner and my grandfather was Theodore(Henry) Hafner.I still have a lot of family with the Hafner last name, but no one knows of any history or ancestors to where we can start a search.If anyone could be of help, I would really apperciate it.
