Kurt or Frederick - Haffner's in PA

My grandfather is Kurt Haffner.He currently lives in Ottsville, PA (been there for about 40 yrs).I believe his father's name was Frederick, but that's his American name.He had brothers and sisters (maybe).I've never met any of them.His father is from Germany or Austria.Any light?
