Somewhat belatedly, I am following up on the messages we exchanged last month regarding John & Elizabeth Hafener of Germany and Mooreton, ND.

First, I apologize for not responding promptly. I got a little carried away with some other projects I am working on and time just slipped by.

In doing some further Hafener research, I am not entirely sure whether Adolph Hafener's wife was named Lorna or Helena. In the 1900 census, which is hand-written, her name looks like either Laura or Lorna. From you e-mail message I presumed it was Lorna.

However, there is a picture of their farm house on p. 77 of the book, "A History of Mooreton, 1884 - 1984." The paragraph below the picture states, "The Charles J. Klosterman home [the current owner] was owned by Adolph and Helena Hafener who homesteaded the NW Sec. of 1/4-6-132-49 in 1884."
