Have you looked at Dotson's Genealogy on the Hegeman/Hagaman/Hagarman families. It is online and is very helpful placing the people into the families.
There are so many and they relied on the Dutch naming conventions to name their children. In one will you may see father Joseph, Son Joseph, grandson Joseph and nephew of Brother David, Joseph. So dates and initials are vital. Unfortunately, with the Dutch and in the colonial times, it was unusual to have last names, so maybe they called themselves the name of the town they were born in or their avocation/career and the spelling was anyones guess.
As to another post, the Joseph in NY is probably descended from some of the original Hegemans from Netherlands who settled in Flatbush or Long Island.Without birth dates and timelines, it is hard to identify the parentage.
Do you know about the online books on Google?Look there for all the spellings of Hagaman and you'll find lots of people's trees and connections. Also use the library to look for HeritageQuest or Ancestry if you can't afford to have subscriptions to search. There are many books of Wills, lists of births, deaths and marriages in the churches, and Hagamans were mostly members of the Reformed Dutch Churches. Many are indexed on line.
Happy Searching.
