Hi!We are tracing a brother of your John Halcomb,Calloway Halcomb.I have some first hand info about Calloway that my husband's grandma remembers.We arepretty sure this is the same family as yours.Our Calloway married Katie Cootch/Coots and I am having a hard time finding her!

I found James Monroe and Margot Halcomb in the 1890 census, listed as Line Fork area of Letcher County, with8 kids.Do you already have that info?If not I will be glad to share it.I am in KY and have pretty good access to a library with all this stuff.

I know your post was pretty old.If you have more info about James Monroe and Margaret, I would love to know.
