Lawrence Halfpenny (Halpin) New York

Am searching for any info on my great-great grandfather Lawrence Halfpenny. Born 1811 in Ireland, died 1898 in Seneca Falls NY. Married twice. Only one I can name is Catheraine Carney. Lawrence came to US around 1840. For some reason in the 1850/60's the name was truncated to Halpin.
