Hi Pam!

I am also researching this couple of Samuel and Anne Halfpenny Smith. I see in your list of posts that you are also researching the surname of Tucker, which really interested me!

My 2nd great-grandfather, Oscar Smith, is enumerated in the 1870 Fayette County, Indiana Census with John Halstead and his wife Sarah. Thinking that Sarah might be Oscar's sister, I researched some on her and found her listed at RootsWeb World Connect as Sarah Ellen Tucker and her mother's name as Harriet Lucy Ann Smith. I do have some questions regarding the accuracy of the info listed for Harriet, but her parents were listed as Samuel and Ann Halfpenny.

I have been hitting brick walls everywhere in researching Oscar. I have both Sarah and Harriet's obituaries (Sarah's lists a brother, Isaac Tucker), but there is no mention of Oscar. Any help or information you could provide would be greatly, greatly appreciated! I'm quite frustrated!

Thanks so much!
Stacy
