James Halfpenny born about 1811

Searching information about James Halfpenny who was in Leicestershire by 1834, he marrying Elizabeth Newbold.There were a number of other Halfpennys in the district at that time but oral tradition states the family walked down from Scotland to find work here.The Halfpennys were coalminers and brickmakers but James was a Hawker.
Any ideas out there?
