Joseph Halfpenny of Skerries, County Dublin, Ireland used the name Joseph Halpin as well.He was drowned during an attempt to rescue the crew of a ship foundering offshore at night in the late 1800s.Although Joseph was not employed as a lifeguard, he had volunteered to help man their rescue boat.If this rings a bell, please contact me.
