I am writing from North Essex but I grew up in Kings Norton. Where are you? The only Mary Ann on my list so far was born in 1824 which must be too early I think. What were the names of her parents? According to my cousin who was born in 1930 the Halfpenny family owned most of the shops in the High Street.An 'aunt ' Emily had a sweet shop. My ggrandfather was a greengrocer in 1881 and lived in Worcester Street where he was born.Are you getting more info from your security guard? Perhaps we should post a message with Bromsgrove-Halfpenny family to catch the eye. This could get very interesting. Looking forward to a reply. Janette
