Oh, you will have a bit of trouble going back any further than that! It get's real confusing when you start hitting the Denis name! I'm a Hallinan, still here on the home farm in Ballyglass, Quin, Co. Clare. Denis was a bit of a family name, there was one in almost each generation going back as far as the records go, ending with my grand-uncle, Denis Hallinan (Though my brother's name is Mark Thomas Denis Hallinan!). Michael was another common name in our family too. I'd advise that when searching back further than Denis, don't soley search in Quin. While Quin is the nearest village, many of the Hallinans actually lived in the next parish over, in a place called Doora. Addresses to look out for would be Ballyglass, Drim, Creevaghmore and Rineen. Also look out for the name Scanlon, as they are connected to the Hallinans as well
