Check out my response to the George Hamberger inquiry on this forum.I have a John Hamberger b.c. 1849 in Utica, Oneida, NY.He could have married in 1868 and the Mott name is found in the Utica area.Check the obit section for Sebastian Hamberger, it shows that John was of Buffalo in 1905 and had relatives in Ohio and Illinois.
I'd be willing to bet that you tie into this line as this is the only "Hamberger" family that I know of in the area.
