Hello Cousin Leslie,
We are 4th cousins twice removed. The GenForum post you answered from Irene Esson, her post was not quite correct. First my name is James Hambly from Olds, Alberta not JOHN.
William married a lady named Eunice CALKIN she was not a United Empire Loyalist. Another comment Irene ESSON made was "they"
it was "he" left Nova Scotia for Ontario. Also the statement about 3 brothers and 1 cousin followed William to Ontario from Nova Scotia, this statement did not come from me and is incorrect.
Could you tell me how you came to have HAMBLY as your last name? Did your mother marry a HAMBLY? I ask the question because your Grandmother, Ethel Florence HAMBLY, did not marry a HAMBLY.
Your Great Grandfather Mathew Cromwell Fletcher HAMBLY's father was John HAMBLY b.
1830, John's father was George HAMBLY b. 1806 who's father was John HAMBLY b. 1778 and John's father was William HAMBLY b. abt 1720. I can give youeach of their families which include dates and places. If you will share with me of your ties.
Please E-Mail me your mailing address and I will send you the information referred to above. Could you please tell me about your family.
Most Sincerely, Look forward to your reply.
James D. HAMBLY
