I sent an email to you and I hope it reaches you.I would like to make contact to find out more about this line of Hammons/Goodman.I think part of it went on to White Co., AR.
I do not know for certain that I am connected but I descend from a Henry Goodman b. 1815 VA, married Charlotta Goodman 1838 in Monroe Co., TN.They were in Roane Co., TN 1840 but had a son born in Cherokee Co., AL 1842 & returned to Roane Co. by the 1850 Census. They were in Van Buren Co. (later Cleburne Co., AR) by 1860.
There was a line of Hammons, Jacob A. Hammons who was m. to a Jane Goodman whose Mother was Elizabeth Goodman (Elizabeth Goodman is bu. in White Co., AR.White Co. adjoins Cleburne Co., AR).This Jacob A. Hammons had a son, William Hammons who was partners with a son & son in law of the sister of Henry Goodman in Quitman, Cleburne Co., AR.William Hammons bought the 2 nephews of Henry Goodman out and moved the business to Hammonsville, White Co., AR.
Henry Goodman had 2 sisters that I know about but there are probably more siblings.
1.Nancy Goodman b. @1815 VA m. George Crone (date & place unknown) and had their children in AL (some Cherokee Co., AL) until the middle 1850s when they moved to Van Buren Co., AR.
2.Minerva Jane Goodman b. @1823 TN or Old Turkey Town, Cherokee Co., AL (Old Turkey Town is now in Ettowah Co., AL) married George Moore (brother of Charlotta Moore Goodman) in Roane Co. TN @1845 & moved to Van Buren Co. AR by the 1850 Census.
I am not certain they are connected to your line but I would appreciate hearing from you.
