Do you think that Benj Hancock is a son of William Hancock who died in 1768 naming a son Benjamin in his will?
Do you think that Benj Hancock is a son of William Hancock who died in 1768 naming a son Benjamin in his will?Benjamin married Elizabeth Phillips, dt of Mary Phillips who died in 1727.They had Benjamin, Mary who married a Whitefield, Damaris who married a Birdsong and had a son William, Sarah who married a Hargrave.This is proved in ussex County, April 18,1768 which mentions: dts Mary Whitefield, Damaris Birdsong, Sarah Hargrave, son Benjamin, sister Martha Bennet,
grandsons John Whiteand, William Birdsong and granddaughters Ann White,Mary White and Hannah White.Witnesses:Nicholas Hancock, Henry Bradley, Benjamin Bradley Sr. and Joseph Bradley.Also by the will of Mary Phillips, dated March 28, 1727 and proved in Surry, April 19, 1727 which mentions daughter Elizabeth wife of William Hancock.
