Do any of you have information on one John Hankinson, born at Monmouth, NJ, migrated to Natchez, Miss. and built the plantation "Monmouth" ca 1816?
He married Frances McCrea (from Phila, Pa), and both died in 1826, supposedly from yellow fever. They had children, but I have not been able to isolate them.
I am attempting to connect the Hankinson migration from NJ to the South, SC, Miss, etc. There are three volumes of :New Jersey Settlers, ...., which I have yet to access.
Any info on this family would be much appreciated.I have lots of information on the Hankinsons in NJ, and the Hankinsons in SC, but have not been able to pin down the documentation which would prove this link between North and South.
