Thomas, Michael, John Hanlon--Belfast shipbuilding
My g-grandfather, Daniel Hanlon, b Ireland around 1828, stated he worked in shipyard of his uncle around 1846-1849, and studied navigation.Assuming this was in Belfast, and uncle was on paternal side, there are two Hanlon's in Belfast Directories linked to shipbuilding: Thomas Hanlon listed 1846, "T.Hanlon, boatbuilder, 92 James St" and 1843: Michael Hanlon, Slate and Scantling Yard, 90 James St".
There is also notice of a Captain John Hanlon who died in a shipwreck on coast of Africa in Belfast Newsletter, in 1842.
Has anyone researched these men who were likely born early 1800's? and found connection to a Daniel or a brother who married a "Mary" (gg-grandmother, came to San Francisco between 1860 and 1870)
