My husband's parents were born and raised in Washington Co, OH.She is a decendant of Capt. John Baker (Rev. War soldier and Indian fighter) and he is descended from Patrick (originally O'Hanlon) Hanlon also a Rev. War soldier. My husband was born near New Matamoras, Wash. Co, but when he was 2 the family moved 90 miles away.He recalls a day when he and his father took a day trip back to Washington Co in about 1948.He says they visited four places that were his father's relatives and one of them was an elderly widow (probably John or Richard's wife) and the conversation was about "Al and Lou."He can't recall the woman's name and he never went there again, but he's sure it was a Hanlon relative.

I checked our Hanlon History and found that my husband's great-grandfather, Felix, had an older brother named Eli.His wife was Harriet (maiden name not given) and they had a son named Richard born in 1868 and died in 1945.This would make him too old to be the Richard you are seeking. He married Nellie Marshall (1874-1940). No son named John is listed, however, there is a son named Eli who never married and a daughter named Mary who married Charles Lisk.
There is also a daughter named Amanda who married a Standbigger and a son named Nick who married Ruth Cline.
