James Hanlon, John Loughlin, Brooklyn, N.Y.

Hi,
In the 1870 census for Brooklyn, Kings, New York, 1st wd
I found the following entry:
Loughlin, John, age 35, self, cooper, born in Ireland
Margt.,age 32, wife, kp.hse, born in Ireland
John,age 10, son,born in N.Y.
Peter, age4, son,born in N.Y.
Hanlon, James,age8,other,born in Ire.

If this is my James Hanlon, he was born abt. 1863 and died in St. Louis, MO. Apr. 13, 1894.He married, in St. Louis I believe, Mary (Mollie) McGahan Aug. 10, 1882.

I would like to know what the connection is between James and this Loughlin family.My guess is that he may be a nephew of Margt. or John.Does anyone have this family in their tree?
