John Hanna and Ann Nesbit?
I'm hoping someone can help me with a major brickwall I've come up against. I'm a Hannah from Australia, and I'm trying to trace back my direct Hannah line as far as I can. My grandparents came out to Australia in the early 1950's, but they were from Dunoon, Argyll, Scotland. The "Hannah" comes from my grandpa's side, his father was James Boyle Hannah (I know how the Scots were with re-using family names, but I can't find where the Boyle comes from!), James B. Hannah was born in 1898 and his father was Andrew Hannah (b. in Ireland in 1859. died in Scotland in 1942).
I know for certain that Andrew's parents were Robert Hanna and Margaret Maxwell (both born in Ireland and died in Scotland). And according to Robert's death certificate, his parents were John Hanna, a farmer, and Ann Nesbit (I'm guessing they both were probably born around 1790-ish).
This is where the trail ends. I can't find anything to do with John Hannah and Ann Nesbit, and I can't piece together where the "Boyle" in James Boyle Hannah comes from.
Anyone that might be from this family or knows anything at all, please help if you can. I'm determined to find them! haha.
