Rev. Soldiers Thomas Hardyman vs Thomas Hardiman

By Joy Barefoot July 22, 2012 at 04:12:54

Does anyone know of any proof that Thomas Hardiman (so spelled in most of records I've seen, and of Bean's Militia) was ever in SC or Georgia during, or after, the Revolutionary War?No doubt he was in the war, but just where did he serve besides Battle of King's Mountain?

Captain Thomas Hardyman,
Cheraw's District Regiment, 1775-1777
Captain 9-28-1775 under Col George Gabriel Powell

After the war he was in charge of a district in Georgia

These men seem to be confused according to what I am learning and reading "wilderness Calling" there seems to be no mention, and a lot of assumptions, as to his being a Captain.he is listed only as a soldier in Bean's Company from what I saw.

Since these are distinctly two different men, Wouldn't it be great if we could agree on the fact that they are different men and be able honor our forefather Thomas Hardyman also, as a RS Soldier.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Sincerely,Joy
