Hi, the half-sister of my greatgrandmother married a Jonathan Hardy, of Norwich, Norfolk in 1859.
Eliza Douglass (or Dagless), b.02/09/1833 in Briston, Norfolk bapt. 25/09/1833 Briston.Daughter by his first wife Mary Ann Bustins, of John Douglass (or Dagless).In the 1841 census she is aged 8.Freebmd gives her surname as Douglas on marriage
Married Dec. qtr 1859 Erpingham RD, Jonathan Hardy and had 10 children from 1858 to 1877.Jonathan is a whitesmith and bell hanger in 1861, a licensed hawker in 1871, a hawker and whitesmith in 1881, a whitesmith and gasfitter in 1901.He was born in Norwich 10/12/1834 and baptised 14/12/1834 at St Peter’s, Parmentergate, Norwich, the son of Jonathan Hardy and his wife Elizabeth, nee Lovett (marr. 03/10/1833 at Peter‘s, Parmentergate).In 1861 they were living at North St.,North Walsham.In 1871 they were living at Shoulder of Mutton Yard, St Stephen’s, Norwich.in 1881 they were at Old Palace Rd, Heigham, Eccles. Parish of St Bartholomew.In 1891 Eliza and children were at 9 Black Horse Rd, Heigham, Eccles. Parish of St Bartholomew.In 1901 Jonathan was found at his son Arthur’s household in Norwich.In 1901 Eliza was living with Beatrice in Heigham.

1. Arthur W.G. Hardy, b.1858 Norwich and aged 3 in 1861.Not in 1871 census with parents (and presumably d. before 1865)
2. Elizabeth Hardy, b.1861 North Walsham.Aged 7 months in 1861.Aged 10 in 1871.Not with parents in 1881.
3. Arthur Herbert Hardy, b. June qtr 1864 North Walsham.Aged 7 in 1871 and 17 and a servant, page in 1881 living with his parents.In 1891 he was 26 and a machine agent living with his mother and 3 siblings.In 1901 he was married with 3 children living at 30 Canterbury Place, Norwich with his father also in the household.

4. John Thomas Hardy, b.1865 North Walsham.Aged 6 in 1871, aged 15 and a printer in 1881 living with his parents.Aged 25 and a printer cutter living with his parents.In 1901 he was married, a paper box cutter living with his wife and daughter at 13 Black Horse Rd, Heigham
Married Dec. qtr 1892 Kate Kirk, born Norwich.Aged 30 in 1901.

5. Ann Hardy, b.1866 North Walsham / Birkenhead, Cheshire.Aged 5 in 1871 and 14 (called Annie) in 1881.
6. Alice Lovett Hardy, b.Sept. qtr 1868 Yarmouth, Norfolk. Aged 3 in 1871 but not with parents in 1881.
7. William Walter F. Hardy, b.1871 Norwich, Norfolk.Aged 7 months in 1871 and 10 in 1881.In 1891 a William Hardy, 21 was a servant (a boots) at the Bell Hotel, Oxford Hill, Norwich, Eccles. Parish of St John Timberhill.In 1901 William as 30, a barman and cellar man living at 40 Mancroft, Heigham, Eccles. Parish of St Bartholomew’s.
Married Dec. qtr 1896 Sarah Hannah Revell, aged 32 in 1901
7.1 William R. Hardy, born Norwich and aged 3 in 1901
7.2 Hilda M. Hardy, born Norwich and aged 1 in 1901
7.3 Unnamed son, born Norwich, aged 1 week in 1901
8. Emily Laura Hardy, b.1872 Norwich.Called Laura in 1881 and Emily in 1891 and a confectioner packer, living with her parents.
9. Minnie Lucy Hardy, b.1874 Norwich.In 1881 she was 6 years old.Not with parents in 1891.
10. Beatrice Helen Hardy, b.1877 Norwich.She was 4 in 1881 and 14 in 1891 living with her parents.She was 24 and living with her mother in Heigham in 1901.
This may have nothing to dowith your Hardys, it is not an uncommon name, but then it might be just what you were wanting!
