Okay. . .
Catherine HARGAN married Joseph FAS, in Maryland on 3 Nov 1778.That would put her birth, say about 1758, if she was 20 years when she was married.
Michael HARGAN was born between 1752-1755. He died 13 Dec 1840.On his tombstone, at Patterson Chapel Cemetery, Ft. Knox Military Reservation, Ky.,states "At the age of 16, Michael immigrated, with two sisters, from Ireland to New York, circa 1768.On 10 Feb 1776, he enlisted in the 1st Penn. Regimant as a rifleman, at Hagerstown, Maryland and served 14 months in the Continental Army with Captain John Nelson, under the command of Colonel De Hoss.On 3 Aug 1791 Michael married Elizabeth Wallingford at Berkeley, Virginia. A land grant of 400 acres from Patrick Henry, Governor of Virginia, enabled Michael and family to locate on the Rolling Fork River, which later became part of Hardin County, Ky.Here he remained until his death."
Children listed on the marker are Joseph, Rebecca, George, James, Benjamin, Mary (Polly), Prudence, and Daniel.All the children were born in Kentucky. 1) Joseph, b. abt 1792, m/1 Elizabeth BAYNE, m/2 Nancy (_);2) Rebecca, b. 1794, m. Henry LONG; 3)George, b. 1796, m. Rachel HIBBS;4) Benjamin, b. 1797, m. Katherine ARNOLD;5) James, b. 1797, m. Sarah (Sally) FAGAN;6) Mary (Polly), b. 1800, m. Joseph HIBBS, JR.;7) Prudence, b. 1803, m. Walter BAYNE;8) Daniel, b. 1804, m/1 Susan MIDDLETON, m/2 Margaret COUNTRYMAN, m/3 Cynthia WRIGHT.
Would you let me know of the records that you have that show he has a daughter named Catherine?Daughter-in-Law, yes, but I am still inclined to think Catherine is one of the two sisters that came over with him. I am willing to change that thought.Records tend to pop up quite unexpectedly in genealogy, as I've found out.
