Here is all I've been able to find.

Mary Jane "Marthy" or "Jane" Harless

According to census records, she was living with son, George, in the year 1900 in the Saltville District (Hyter's Gap and Fuller's Schoolhouse Precincts) of Washington Co. VA.Her parents are listed as being born in VA.She was listed as being single and having 4 children,3 of which were living.

On the 1880 census taken in Maiden Spring, Tazewell VA, she was listed as "widowed".

On the 1870 Census, Martha was listed as being 26, born in VA, & living in West VA.

I can find no marriage records regarding Jane & her last name was always listed as Harless on everything I found.It was rumored that the childrens father was a "Bandy".

I think this could also have been "Vandy".That's just my opinion though & something I watch for.
