Re: HARNEY - Co. Roscommon, IRE

I am researching Michael (G?) Harney, born 1820, Balansloe (Balanslough), Co. Roscommon, IRE. He immigrated to the US at 17 and married Catherine Gagen/Gaghen/Hagen in Roxbury, MA. His occupation was horse currier. He lived in Roxbury, Woburn and Brockton, Mass. He joined the 38th Regiment of Infantry Massachusetts Volunteers and saw service in Lousiana. (He was also in the VRC). He had several children three of which joined the plumbing trade in eastern Massachusetts.
