Our John Harp arrived in the Middletown Valley, Frederick Co. MD in about 1860.Family stories past down and in the bio sketch of Reno Harp, a turn of the 2000 century judge in Myersville, MD, the story goes that GGGG-Grandfather John and two brothers crossed the Susquehanna River at Harrisburg on their way from Berks County, PA. One brother drowned and the other continued South. We have never been able to identify the brothers. One of Grandfather John's sons,Sebastian "Boston" Harp (ca1768-1814), went South before 1800 and settled in Fayette County. Boston's children were Conrad, Abraham, John/ George and David.
Hopefully, this will help or give some clarification.
