Re: Rachel Beller m. John Harper, 1795 VA
Susan - Who is Phyllis Dixon?
Also, here is the latest on Rachel Beller.
Jacob Beller was born 24 Mar 1736 in Frederick County, Virginia. He was the son of Peter Beller of Germany. He was christened on 14 Jun 1736 at East Cocalico Township, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He died 2 May 1801 in Berkeley County, Virginia, which is now in West Virginia. He had two wives. The first was an Elizabeth. The second was Anne Rush, who Jacob married on 29 Mar 1790 in Berkeley County, Virginia. Jacob and Elizabeth had a daughter by the name of Rachel Beller, who married John Harper, Jr. on 30 Dec 1795 in Berkeley County, Virgina. John Harper, Sr., was the brother of Robert Harper of Harper's Ferry. Jacob's Will can be found on a Ancestry.com web site. It is said that Jacob signed his Will in 1801 after the alledged married to Anna Wiggs, so John Jr. couldn’t have married Anna Wiggs, because Jacob called Rachel, “Rachel Harper” still.
We believe that John Harper Jr.might be the Rev. Soldier, who died in Highland County, Ohio, but we can’t prove it as yet.
