Re: Any Hartlebens Out There?
Thanks so much for the email and the info. I am so excited about this. I have waited entirely too long to trace the family. I got started on this a few weeks ago after the WTC attack. Family roots are very important and I hope we all can help each other out. This is my new hobby.
Let me tell you about myself and what I know about the family.
I was born 4/4/1960 in wood county, Parkersburg West Virginia. My Father was Robert H. Hartleben Jr. and my mother was Judith Ann Leeson of Belpre Ohio. Belpre is just across the river from Parkersburg. I am the youngest of three children. I have a brother Robert "Butch" Hartleben IV of Hunstville Alabama and one Sister, Jessica Hartleben Beasley of Atlanta Georgia. My Brother has a son, Robbie who is 25 and lives in Denver Colorado with his mother Sharon. My Sister had three children, 2 girls and 1 boy. They are spread out all over.
My Fathers father was Robert Henry Hartleben Sr. of Parkersburg, W Va. He had several brothers, the ones I know of was George and Jerry. My Grandmother was a nurse in WWII and then married my Grandfather shortly after the War. Her maiden name was Ina Lee Marstiller of Elkins, W Va. My father was the only child from their marriage. I have also located a George Hartleben in Garland, TX. Hi is in his Eighties and very poor health. He is the Nephew of my Grandfather. After his surgery that is coming up, I am going to visit him and discuss the family roots.
Any information you have or any contacts within the Family of Hartleben's, I would be very appreciative if you would share them. I have found that this is becoming an obsession with me. I want my two sons to know where they came from and what their heritage is. If I do nothing more in life, I want to be able to give them that.
Thank you so very much for contacting me and please do keep in touch, I promise I will.
God bless and take care....
