Carol, have you tried the on-line ILLinois Statewide marriage records.I found a bunch of Hartless both in the grooms and brides records and some from Greene Co. Ill.Also type in Heartless.I found one from Greene county under brides with that spelling.The counties that I found Hartless in are Greene, Cook, Kane, Vermillion.I don't know who they belong to but maybe by dates you could look into the census.Good luck and keep me posted.I am trying to chart the Hartless family also.
