Chris, My grandmother Emma Gertrude(Doty) King as the grand-daughter of Harmon Hartman 5th son of Solomon & Susannah (Weir) Hartman. Solomon was the son of John & Barbara (Hoffman) Hartman and John was the 6th son of John & Maria Eva (Breing) Hartman. This Hartman geneology dates back to 1727 when Johan Henrich Hartman (known as Henry) d. 1744, came to America from the Palatines to Philadelphia on the ship William & Sarah September 18, 1727.My Hartman book list Christian, but does not list a birth date for him. The Palatines are on the Rhine & adjacent places near the modern city of Mainz, Germany. The book shows several sources. 1. Luthern Theological Seminary of Philadelphia; 2. Hollenbach's "Hartman Family of Northern Lehigh County."; 3. John Hartman's 1811 petition for guardian; 4. Rev. Johannes Henrich Helffrich's record at Lowhill Union Church.
If you would like the names & address of the individuals that compiled "The Hartman Family 1727 to Present", please let me know & I will forward them to you.
Hope this answers some questions.
