John Hartzel was married to Barbara Hittel and is included in this will of 1786
It is believed that the son, George Michael (Jr), may have also been married to a Hartzel.Her name is Christina.One of George Michael Jr.'s sons, George, passed the Hartzel name down as a first or middle name and it is reused several times in his line.

Abstract of Will of Michael HITTEL SR.
Michael Hittel Sr. of Salisbury Twp, Northampton Co. Pennsylvania --cordwainer.
. . . find myself very sick and weak in body but of perfect & sound mind. . .
I give, devise, dispose and bequeath . . . as followeth:
To my present well beloved wife Ann Mary the sum of one hundred pounds good and lawful money of Penn. . . . to be paid out of the first sum of money which shall be got for my plantation when sold.There is provisions for more if needed.She is also to get fifteen bushels of wheat and fifteen bushels of rye or else money enough to buy as much.She is to get on milk cow of her choice.Other things she is to get is: Iron stove will all its appertenances, bed, beadstead, and all linnens belonging to it, a chest of drawers, saddle, spinning wheel, churn, all the flax, one iron pot that she chooses, two pewter dishes, half a dozen pewter plates, one pewter tankard, half a dozen pewter spoons, (another article, but original is too hard
to read) two water pails, two chairs, and all the wool, and all her clothes.
To my eldest son George Michael Hittel eight pounds of lawful money of Penn. for his right of being my eldest son.
All lands tenements . . . and movable effects not given or bequeathed . . . shall be sold . . .to the highest bidder and the money thereof (what is not bequeathed herein before) shall be divided amongst all my lawful children . . . in even like & equal shares (Except the sum of ten pounds lawful money aforesaid to be first deducted out of my whole estate for my son John Adam and the sum of three pounds money aforesaid for my son Frederick, because all my oher sons have each of them received the sum of one hundred pounds in Continental Money) That is tosay one equal twelfth part to:

And whereas my eldest daughter Barbara was intermarried with a certain John Hartzel who now being deceased and left five children viz Elizabeth, George Adam Hartzel, Mary Susannah and Leah and whereas my said daughter is since married again, therefore I give and bequeath her share and equal twelfth part as aforesaid unto her five children being my grand children to be divided amongst them share and share alike.
Executors: my beloved Son In Law George Knappenberger and my beloved son John Adam Hittel.
Plantation contained about one hundred and seventy acres of land.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal dated the fifteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty three.

Will was probated the 26th day of January 1786.An interesting fact is made known in the probate statement.George Kriebel of Uppermilford Twp. Northampton Co. was the actual writer of the will for Michael Hittel was blind at the time.George wrote what Michael dictated and George read back to Michael what he had wrote and Michael agreed that it was his will and was to be executed as such.George also guided Michaels hand in the
