Hello,
I’m not sure which great-great grandfather you are seeking.I’m assuming since the query is in a Hartzug and related spellings message board you are seeking information on the Hartzug great-great grandfarther. If I’m wrong I apologize. However, if you’re seeking the Nickey family side I can help you.
Susannah Nickey is my second cousin four times removed. My research is incomplete but I do have many of her direct ancestors identified. She is a direct descendant of Georg Niecke (b. about 1710 in Saxony, Germany, d. between 1773 and 27 Dec 1774 in Ralpho Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania). Her early ancestors are with few errors identified in “A History of the Nickey Family in America; 1700 A.D – 1940 A.D.”, by Illa Metsker Milligan, published in 1940.Susannah’s great-great grandparents are identified in the above document.I had identified and linked Susannah and her parents to George Nickey II and Christina Hosteller. If any of the genealogy information I have on the Nickey’s would be useful to you let me know.
I have Susannah’s siblings as Agness, Jacob (Benjamin), and Rebecca; but I did not have Eve.I have John Hartzug married to Susannah but I did not have him married to Eve and a niece Catherine Ann Wagner.Thank you for this information supplied in your query.A quick check of Susannah’s father’s sibling’s children did not produce an obvious Catherine Ann Nickey match. It certainly appears that I have a major hole in my family tree.Obviously, I need to do a lot more research on all the individuals discussed above.I would certainly appreciate any additional information you are willing to share on the above individuals.
Good luck on your research, Bradley Baer Nickey.
