Re: Amanda's and George Henry's birth dates

Okay, so after going back and forth with you, I went back and did some checking just in census records. I don't think either of us can be correct. Originally, I also had that 5 dec '52 date for Amanda Estelle. However, the census suggests that Amanda would have had to have been born even later, maybe even more like 1855. She was listed as being 4 years old in the 1860 census! That would mean the dec 5 could be correct, but it would be 1855,not '52.

Also, Augusta, I believe was more likely born in 1852, also according to the census. Now, I know that people played with ages on those reports. But I've found not usually until the girls are a little older than 4 or 7 years of age. Nobody seemed too concerned with it at that age.

Thoughts?
