I am concerned about the preface you posted from Cowan's Haseltine history: particularly-- "20 families settled in Bradford (Rowley) in 1672"
Robert and John arrived in MA in 1638 or thereabouts with Rev. Rogers.Robert's marriage to Ann is the first recorded in Rowley in 1639!John m. Joan Anter/Auter 1644 at Rowley. The name of the town was changed to Bradford in 1672.According to the history of Rowley, the village was incorporated Sept. 4, 1639. A survey was madein 1643, withRobert and John both place on Holmes Street. There is no mention of this group as being Puritans, but the Church was Congregational, which is what the Puritans became.
