Mark, I just had to correspond with you--I have a son with the same name.(My husband changed the spelling of the surname, I regret to say.)But the original name in Germany was indeed Hassenpflug. I have heard of this Lorenz Hassenpflug--he came after the rest of this panel's ancestors.But in Germany they were probably the same family, in Hesse.But the immigrant ancestor of my husband (as with I believe all the others) came to America in 1776.
